The raw material of global transformation

Rare Earth Elements (REEs) are a group of 16 chemical elements with unique properties that are essential for global technological advancement. Essential in the manufacture of high-performance permanent magnets, rechargeable batteries, industrial catalysts and electronic devices such as smartphones, computers and screens, these elements also play a fundamental role in the clean energy revolution, powering wind turbines, electric vehicles and energy storage systems.

As the world accelerates its transition to a low-carbon economy, demand for REEs is growing at an exponential rate. From everyday life to space exploration, these discrete elements are the invisible foundation of the technologies that will define the coming decades.

Cabo Verde Mineração identified and confirmed the presence of REEs during mineral prospecting in its areas. The project identified relevant concentrations of Rare Earth Elements with levels above 3,000 ppm of TREO and high potential for recovery by leaching as they are ionic clays.

With the potential for hundreds of thousands of tons of ionic clays, the discovery positions Cape Verde among the country's most promising projects in critical minerals, combining geological innovation, scientific partnership and commitment to sustainable development.
